Best Areas in Phuket for a Villa Photoshoot (Rawai vs. the Rest)

Phuket's villa areas are not interchangeable for a shoot. Light, privacy, drive time from the airport and crew, and the look of the surroundings all change by district. Here is how the main areas compare, and why the south of the island is often the practical pick.

Rawai & Nai Harn (south)

Quiet, residential and less touristed, which means less noise, easier road access for vans, and villas set back from traffic. Good all-day light on properties with open orientation. About 30–45 minutes from Phuket International Airport, and central to the island's viewpoints (Promthep Cape, Windmill) if you want exteriors beyond the villa. This is where Latisha Villa sits.

Kata & Karon (south-west)

Close to beaches and walkable amenities, but busier and more built-up. Villas here are often on slopes with sea views — strong for hero exteriors, trickier for moving grip and lighting between levels.

Kamala, Surin & Bang Tao (west)

The "Millionaire's Mile" strip: the highest concentration of large luxury villas and the resort infrastructure to match. Best for big-budget productions that need multiple backup options nearby. Downsides: peak-season traffic on the west coast is heavy, and drive time from the airport is similar to the south without the quiet.

Cape Yamu & the east coast

Architectural, design-forward villas and calm water, closest to the airport (20–30 min). Light is beautiful in the morning. Fewer beach options and a smaller pool of properties, so availability is tighter.

How to choose

Priority is the villa itself? Pick the property first, area second — a self-contained compound with 7+ setups removes the need to move.
Need beach + villa in one day? Kata/Karon or Bang Tao shorten transfers.
Tight schedule from the airport? East coast or south.
Noise-sensitive audio? Favour residential south over resort strips.
