9 Tips for Your Next Photoshoot at a Phuket Villa

1. Plan around the golden hour

Natural light in Phuket is spectacular but harsh from roughly 11:00 to 15:00, when the sun is high and contrast is extreme. Schedule exterior and poolside sets for the first two hours after sunrise or the last two before sunset. Latisha Villa's east–west orientation gives you soft, diffused light through the floor-to-ceiling glass in the morning and a warm glow on the entrance facade in the evening. Keep the midday block for interior sets, styling changes, lunch and b-roll.

2. Build a shot list against the floor plan

There are 7+ distinct shooting corners inside the compound — the floating staircase, the pool terrace, the double-height living room, the tropical entrance, the prep room, the bedrooms and the garden. Ask for the floor plan in advance and map each look to a specific corner and a specific time of day. A shoot that moves in one direction through the house — rather than doubling back for light — will comfortably capture 20+ setups in a full day.

3. Use the dedicated prep room

A separate, air-conditioned prep space keeps hair, make-up and wardrobe out of your active sets. The villa's prep room has full-length mirrors, strong even lighting and plenty of power outlets, so your styling team can work in parallel with the camera team instead of competing for space.

4. Confirm power for lighting rigs

The villa runs 3-phase electricity with roughly 15 kW of capacity across 12 independent circuits, which is enough for HMI and heavy LED rigs. Still, tell us your lighting list ahead of the date so we can point your gaffer to the right circuits and staging points and avoid tripping breakers mid-set.

5. Sort commercial-use and permits early

A private villa booking covers the location. It does not automatically cover every permit your production may need — drone flights, large commercial crews and broadcast projects can require additional approval in Thailand. If your shoot is for a paying client or broadcast, raise it when you inquire so we can confirm what is supported and what you need to arrange.

6. Give us an accurate crew count

The villa handles small creator shoots and large productions of up to about 30 crew for a day. Parking fits up to 10 vehicles or production vans with ground-level loading. An accurate headcount — talent, crew, clients and drivers — lets us plan parking, catering space and rest areas so the day runs calmly.

7. Plan wardrobe and continuity for the heat

Tropical humidity is hard on wardrobe, make-up and talent. Bring more looks than you think you need, schedule structured or layered outfits for the air-conditioned interiors, and keep a steamer and touch-up kit near the prep room. Build short breaks into the call sheet every 60–90 minutes for exterior work.

8. Back up footage between setups

Enterprise fiber Wi-Fi (1000/500 Mbps) means you can offload cards to a drive and push a cloud backup between setups rather than at wrap. For a paid campaign, a mid-day backup is cheap insurance against a corrupt card ending the shoot.

9. Send the brief before you arrive

The single biggest time-saver is a short brief sent ahead of the date: date, call time and wrap time, crew size, usage type (personal, brand, client, broadcast), lighting and grip list, and any drone or music needs. It lets us confirm access, timing and areas in writing before the shoot so there are no surprises on the day.
